Sleeping like a person (at least, trying to)

I am trying to sleep here, I found a very comfortable position, I am dreaming about those squirrels outside the window... when I notice that I am being photographed....  Can a cat just sleep in this house?

Just a few more of my baby pics

I figure I've relived my kittenhood enough already. This is the last bunch of those pics. My parents love looking over them and reminiscing. But, hey, I'm just as cute and cuddly today as I was then:)

I remember thinking this self-licking stuff was way too much work. As a Main Coon, I have a ton of hair. But, I realized looking pretty outweighs the weird bending to get those hard-to-reach spots.

My first Christmas! I loved that tree. My parents took lots of time to decorate it, and it took me no time to demolish it:) It was just too tempting with all those shiny lights and colorful balls handing from it.

As you can see, I was mesmerized by all the colors. It was a fake tree, which was a good thing because if I got any sap on my gorgeous fur then I would have been unhappy.

My parents bought me this very comfortable blankie for Christmas. It's gray, like me. I love napping, but not as much as when I was bundled up in that thing.

Red...it's the color that best brings out my cuteness:)

First bath! It was traumatic, but I froze in that pose until it was done. Afterwards, I got treats to make me happy again. After my fur dried, I was so poofy! And I smelled like lavender. I strutted around like a little diva showing off my clean fur.

It was at this point I realized that they were coming at me for a second bath a week later. I don't understand why I can't just lick myself clean!!!!

My Very First Videos!

Today was an intense day! I tried to squeeze in 5 naps, 10 self-grooming sessions, and an extra helping of kitty treats! As you can see by the look in my eyes, I am wired! I really shouldn't complain; I could use the cardio. I am already a healthy 18 pounds, which is normal for a Maine Coon. Normal or not, I still think I should do more sit-ups.

Sitting here wide-eyed and furry-tailed, I remember the first few days I spent in my new home. I loved exploring everything. Playing was my top priority, especially with my parents! Check out this video of us goofing off.

I never liked that rug. See how it taunts me!

My Very First Pictures!

Welcome to CatPic Daily!  My name is Sasha, and this blog is all about me.  You'll find daily pics of me here that will have you cooing and wishing you could just squeeze my furry cheeks.  With each posting you'll learn tons of fun facts about me.

Since this is the beginning of my blog, we'll start there.  I was born on August 27, 2006.  Three months later I was adopted by the best parents in the world who have given me tons of love.

Before I was adopted I spent quite a lot of time with other kitties who chewed my whiskers off, and I had a horrible eye infection in my right eye.  If you look at the first pic you'll see how horrible I look.  But even though I looked miserable, I was the happiest cat ever.  I was welcomed into a home with my own food and water dishes (no more sharing!), my own poop area, tons of toys and plenty of space to run around and play.

In the second pic I am lying on my favorite spot, which is a down comforter.  I love how it's very poofy. It's not a fancy comforter.  Just something simple from Ikea.  I am not into fancy-schmancy stuff.  For me, just keep it simple!

The third pic is of me after a week or so after my eye infection.  Looking better!  I kind of felt like posing this day, and I admit I am the epitome of diva!

Although today I am not a lap cap by nature as the majority of Maine Coons aren't, when I was little I loved to sleep on the chests of my parents.  It was warm, safe and cozy there.  Whenever I had bad kitty dreams of those days of being lonely before I was adopted, I would open my eyes, look up at their smiling faces, and know that I was loved very much!

That's all for today!  Check back tomorrow for more of...ME!
